My shoulders/back of neck area was feeling pretty cramped up from bad form with pull ups, myofasical release with a tennis ball helped a lot, and i might start overhead pressing (good form ) to keep it that way,

And also, PLEASE don't self-diagnose your problems. To me that just sounds like the muscles are tired and knotted. Nothing at all to do with poor shoulder health.
I find it very hard to believe you have any shoulder issues or imbances just for the fact that you havent been training that long.
If it's never happened to me, I doubt it will happen to you at this point in your training.
