Hey my name is Daniel. I'm 19 and from near Leicester. I've followed Parkour for years but never really had someone to train with and now I do. But only once a week so far for around 1 month now. I've been learning how to roll, lazy vault, start of a kong roll and cat leap but would love to be training a lot more so is there anyone out there from Leicster that trains and lot and would love to teach? And how would I get in contact with you Lol. Many thanks

You're in the right place for contact!
We all train lots, usually both saturday and sunday, then there's sometimes a night time session on wednesdays and of course the indoor classes on fridays!
When you say 'near leicester', where exactly are you? Just because there might be somebody here who lives in your town...
the 'Training sessions' section of this forum is used to arrange meet-ups.
In fact - this sunday there's a big community session going down. It's basically a big jam, often people come from nearby places (nottingham etc.) and there's a group warm-up. It's good.
I won't be around for this one, but there's details up on the forum.
That's probably gone on for far too long, hope it's useful.
(also, welcome!)

I'm from Mountsorrel mate I looked on there but there's not like a little group I could train with so I could settle in and move on the the bigger groups and sessions. It is a tricky one.

ah just get stuck in! It's a really relaxed atmosphere and there's no pressure on anybody to do anything. Lots of newcomers will be there as well as more experienced people to help you along if you want it. There's nothing formal about it, and tbh I think if it was my first time I'd feel more comfortable in a big group where i could blend in than a smaller session. But it's up to you man

The community sessions are great places to start taking first steps to learning parkour. Anyone around will help you Also LPA run "LPA academy" on Fridays at NewCollege, which is again great for learning parkour. As Tom said, Come along to the Sunday session, it will be fun. And after that you can come train with the regulars on Wednesday or Weekends... or go to the academy on Friday Welcome to the forum too

I recommend coming to the classes to hone your skills and meet a lot of the Leicester scene, the vibe in the classes is really cool, you'll get lots of support from everyone

The only problem is I work a lot, I am free Wednesdays and Saturdays I should think, how would I go about joining in of them days?

there's often late night wednesday sessions (we meet at like 6ish usually - it changes every time)
And there's almost always somebody training saturday, the details will get posted on here. It's a case of somebody going "Let's do this!" and everybody else going "okay, that sounds good!" so it's a fairly organic thing.
also, do you reckon you could manage 7-9 on fridays? I imagine if you've been working all week you'd be shattered, but it's an idea...

Only problem is I don't drive so that could be a big problem depending on where the sessions are held. I can get to leicester no sweat though.
How many people normally train on a Wednesday night?
Also even though I'm 19 I'm actually really nervous, I know a few bits but I guess everyone else would be awesome at it.

If you're new to Parkour your best bet is to get along to the classes on Friday night. You will learn all the fundamental movements and skills, get fitter and make friends - there's a great atmosphere!

Sorry I meant I will more than likely be working most Fridays, would you say most people who train Wednesdays nights are pros and is it just a few of you who train?

LOL aha nahh, trust me i aint no pro. i've been doing parkour for about a year so im not that great. Tom is really good and im sure he can show you some stuff that would help you. It is normally a few of us on Wednesday though. You should come out during the weekends as there are lots of more advanced people training who can help you or the community sessions or if you can make it, the Friday sessions

I assume you've been training with Floyd then? Gatherings during the week are usually pretty informal so you won't get much in the way of specific tuition, Fridays and weekends are the main days if you can make them.

Nooo not trained with Floyd as of yet because I can't make weekends but I train with one of the guys during the week because I can only normally do early week which may be a problem.
I would love to come out with you this Wednesday if that would be cool with you guys? It's pretty much only 1 of a few days I could actually train?
