Name:Ashley Smith Age:14 Gender: Male Favourite music: rock, metal, thrash and anything that sounds good Experience: None, which is why I wish to join Hobbys: warhammer, gaming, listening to music, watching films Fitness: poor, which is another reason why I wish to come Hi, I'm a very keen person who has always admired those able ones who run with a free spirit. Please accept me if I do make the final decision to join. You will have to bare with me as I have never done anything this hard so pleas help me as when I previously went to scouts, they were never supporting me and we did terrible activities, putting me off clubs. I'm always willing to give clubs another shot, so here I am

AWESOME! Yeah, scouts are right pricks... The parkour community is probably the most accepting community I've ever seen. We also love teaching new people, because we benefit as much as you do! Check out the training sessions (there's one tomorrow if you can get to De Montfort uni??) and come along whenever. Say "Hi, I'm ash, I just said hi on the forum" so we know who you are. Look forward to seeing you

nah, when I started I played computer games and that was it, never touched sports until parkour. A lot of people who don't do sports find that they love it!

Hmmmm, I might go to Nottingham but I wish I could come to this one, as you seem to be very friendly and easily open in your forums.

give nottingham a try, go to a few sessions with them to get an idea of what they're like. If you really don't get on with them (but I reckon you'll like them!) then you're totally welcome to join us.
I just think with all that traveling it's gonna be much harder for you to get in regular training if you start taking it seriously...

You should try check out the community at Nottingham. You can also come down to our community sessions (which run on the 1st Sunday of every month) and you'll get a feel for the community here. Its also a great place to start parkour. Nice to meet ya though

No reason why you can't train by yourself either

Find a decent spot where it's quite quiet and secluded? Doesn't have to be but I prefer training where there's no one about.. As long as there's a good sized wall that you can practise vaults on your good to go.. Look at various videos on youtube.. Ones that show good technique etc and learn from them aswell.. Hope that helps Ps. Welcome to the forum.. I'm Shiv and I've been doing parkour for around 5-6 months

A rail, a wall, stairs e.t.c.... anything really can be used to train.

I wouldn't recommend training on your own to begin with, you my end up with bad habits in your techniques without someone to guide you, I would recommend coming to one of our academy classes to get a taste for things then making up your mind from there. If you train in Nottingham you won't get much in the way of structured tuition which wouldn't be best for you if you're a beginner.
